TOUCHED | A Film Programme by Invisible Women and T A P E Collective

TOUCHED is a short film programme exploring intimacy, sex, and desire from the perspective of female and non-binary filmmakers.

This Valentines Day TOUCH will be screened at the Glasgow Film Theatre.

The programme is made up of both new and archive shorts co-curated by Invisible Women, a feminist film collective based in Edinburgh, and T A P E, who are a collective working with films exploring heritage, diaspora and identity.

Invisible Women are dedicated to reinserting women into the history of cinema through screenings, events and editorial and curated this selection alongside T A P E with the hope to open up space for wider discussions about self-love, intimacy and longing.

On the programme Invisible Women’s co-founder, Rachel Pronger said;

“Touched is a programme that was partly inspired by the pandemic and the feelings of alienation that many of us have experienced over the past two years. We wanted to create an opportunity for people to enjoy the communal experience of watching a film together, and to feel some kind of connection with one another after all that trauma.”

“These films challenge the narrow ideas of sex and intimacy that we see in so much of mainstream cinema, exploring the many different ways we can find intimacy and connection in our lives - within ourselves, within sexual encounters and within our communities. ”
